As the story goes, he was the top coder in India, turned down $100 million acquisition offers from Facebook and Google, and then co-founded Rippling, an HR SaaS company worth over $13.4 billion.
Now, Prasanna Sankar is in the news for entirely different reasons. Just days after Rippling sued Deel, another HR SaaS company, for corporate espionage, Sankar claimed that his ex-wife, Dhivya Sashidhar, filed fake police complaints that he had kidnapped their 9-year-old son and that Chennai police were now harassing him, his family, and a friend. The only way to make it stop was to post on X.
Within hours, the post had gone viral. Within days, his ex-wife said that Sankar was a “sexual pervert.” The story has ignited Reddit threads, commentary across tech circles, and a firestorm of debate — even though it’s near impossible to verify either party’s claims. But one thing is abundantly clear: society has a very low tolerance for women perceived to be getting more than their due.
